SUMMARY OF SURCHARGES ESTABLISHED
BY THE CAPE MAY COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITIES AUTHORITY

1. Prohibited Waste - Includes unprepared asbestos, hazardous waste, sewage or septic wastes, infectious waste, medical waste (regulated) and out-of-County waste.

SURCHARGE:
1st Offense - Flat Rate of $500.00 plus $250.00 per ton
2nd Offense - Flat Rate of $1,000 plus $500.00 per ton
3rd Offense - Flat Rate of $2,000 plus $1,000 per ton

In addition to the above noted surcharges, any customer who disposes of waste material which is specifically prohibited by the CMCMUA shall also be liable for all costs associated with the removal, proper dispoal and clean-up of such prohibited wastes, including any surcharges or penalties the CMCMUA receives from the State and/or Federal regulatory agencies as a result of the specific violation. Futhermore, such violations may result in revocation of disposal privileges at all CMCMUA facilities.

2. Excess Designated Recyclables in Loads of Solid Waste - Loads of Solid Waste which contain designated recyclables in excess of 5% by volume of the total load will be surcharged as follows:
SURCHARGE: $271.00 per ton

3. Processing of Low Revenue Recyclables at the IPF
This low revenue recyclables surcharge will be levied on any load of recyclables which high value recyclables, such as aluminum or corrugated has been removed. This surcharge shall be established based on the composition and market value of the incoming recyclables delivered to the IPF plus a $200.00 fee per incident.

4. Contaminated Recyclables - Recyclable material mixed with other waste types which cause the recyclables to be unprocessible shall be assessed the following surcharge to cover the Authority's cost for disposal of the contanminated recyclables.
SURCHARGE: $271.00 per ton

5. Assistance Fee for Unloading Vehicles - A lump sum fee of $100.00, per incident, will be charged to customers whose vehicles experience a mechanical malfunction and are unable to discharge their load and request assistance from the Authority in unloading their containers/vehicles. The CMCMUA and its employees shall not be held liable for any damage which results to the customers vehicle or container while providing such assistance.

6. Assistance for Reloading Vehicles - A minimum reloading fee of $100.00 per incident will be charged to customers who unload unacceptable waste on the landfill working face. If reloading the vehicle is not an option, the customer will be surcharged with $271.00 per ton of waste or recyclables unloaded from the vehicle, based upon the weight scale date recorded by the CMCMUA.

7. Origin and Disposal Form Misrepresentation
SURCHARGE: $100.00 per ton
