Electronics

Electronic devices are constructed of recyclable components including plastics, metals, glass, and hazardous materials. Your municipality may have a drop-off location or special collection day; contact your local Publics Works Department . There are two classes of electronic devices:

  • Covered Electronic Devices (CEDs) are required to be recycled by rules and regulations established by the State of New Jersey.  CEDs can be brought to the CMCMUA Landfill or Transfer Station for recycling free of charge.
    • Computers (desktop, laptop, portable, tablets) (includes keyboard and mouse)
    • Computer Monitors
    • Desktop Printers
    • Desktop Fax Machines
    • Televisions
    • Any other Device with a display screen greater than four (4) inches
  • Non-Covered Electronic Devices (nCEDs) are capable of being recycled but are not required to be recycled.  For now, nCEDs can be brought to the CMCMUA Landfill or Transfer Station for recycling at no charge to consumers.
