Job Description:

The Cape May County Municipal Authority is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.  The Purchasing Agent will have the authority, responsibility and accountability for all purchasing activity pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq.).  Plans, prepares, reviews and coordinates public bidding, and reviews submitted bids and RFPs for content and compliance.  A minimum of five years’ experience is preferred.  Must have a valid Qualified Purchasing Agent certification issued by the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services, DCA; skilled at preparing and reviewing bid/RFP packages in their entirety; ability to formally recommend suitable action on bids/RFPs;  strong knowledge of laws, rules and regulations affecting New Jersey local government purchasing practices.  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.  Proficiency in Edmunds Software is a definite plus.  Qualified candidates should send cover letter and resume to Human Resources Department, Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority, 1523 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. employment@cmcmua.com An Equal Opportunity Employer.
