Wastewater Force Main Replacement Project

Bay Ave, Ocean City, NJ

Update #16 - Week 12/16/19 through 12/20/19

Active work:

As of the end of the day Friday (12/13/19), the Contractor’s South crew will have progressed forward and installed a new PVC pipe, backfilled and paved to a point midway between 24th and 25th Streets.  The north crew will have progressed southward and completed the same work to a point immediately south of 16th Street.

From Monday (12/16/19) to Friday (12/20/19) the work will continue in the same directions for both crews.

For the weekend (12/14/19 – 12/15/19), Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around stored materials and equipment.

On Monday (12/16/19) Bay will again be closed from 34th to 14th streets.  Traffic detours will be established to divert motorists to West Ave with a Police Traffic director stationed at 14th Street to assist in traffic control. It is expected that by the end of the week (12/20/19), the South Crew will proceed North of 24th street. Once this happens, the closure of Bay will be restricted between 24th and 14th Streets.
