Update #17 - Week 12/23/19 through 12/27/19

Active work:

As of the end of the day Friday (12/20/19), the Contractor's South crew progressed northward and will have installed a new PVC pipe, backfilled, and temporary paved to a point midway between 24th and 23rd Streets. The North crew will have progressed southward and will have completed the same work to a point about 100' north of 17th Street.

From Monday (12/23/19) to Friday (12/27/19) the work will continue in the same direction for both crews. There will be no work on Christmas Day (12/25/19).

Traffic:

For the weekend (12/14/19 – 12/15/19), Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around stored materials and equipment.

On Monday (12/16/19) Bay will again be closed from 34th to 14th streets.  Traffic detours will be established to divert motorists to West Ave with a Police Traffic director stationed at 14th Street to assist in traffic control. It is expected that by the end of the week (12/20/19), the South Crew will proceed North of 24th street. Once this happens, the closure of Bay will be restricted between 24th and 14th Streets.
